God I love the Boise post office
December 24, 2008 5:25 pm RantsThe post office has mislaid a package containing more than half of the christmas presents I was going to give out, which were supposed to be here a week ago. It’s 4:30 christmas eve, and they have no idea where it is. Time to find out what last minute shopping is like, and also, giving presents that aren’t awesome. Failboat; all aboard.
I’ve lost more packages in the year since I’ve moved here than in the rest of my life put together, and the ones I do get are usually in piss poor condition. It’s a wonder they pass quality control.

It’s not just the Boise post office. I live in Glendale (Los Angeles County) and I’ve had so much trouble with mail in the past few months. Things have been broken, lost, and important things bills have taken 12 days to go to the next town over. I hope your Christmas ended up great anyway and that your stuff got found.

Well, my experiences with San Diego and Pittsburgh were with people who went to the ends of the earth to save someone’s Christmas – I mean seriously, there are some personal heroes in the East Liberty, PA (Pittsburgh) distribution center – whereas with the Boise post office, you’re lucky if they pick up the phones. But yeah, you’re right, this can’t be the only one.
Thank you for the holiday well wishes, though; I hope yours went well, as well.

I was lucky enough to have two weeks paid off from work, which is one of the perks of working on a college campus. I had a great time with the husband and kids. As for the post office, I’m not sure about San Diego but customer service in Los Angeles isn’t too great. But, it’s ok. Luckily, for the most part I can pay bills and accomplish what I need to online.

Well, this seems to have fixed itself over the last six months. I haven’t lost any packages or had any quality of delivery problems since I posted this.
I wonder what changed.
