Sorry I’ve Been Gone; Also Yay Blog Spam

Blog content’s gonna be thin over the next few weeks. E3’s coming up and I have work to do.

That’s also why I haven’t filled the daily image queue in a while. However, I’ll put up a big chunk of images tonight and post-date them, so that they’ll still spill out daily like they’re spota. Huhuh.

At any rate, right now I’m throwing together a few quick demo games, because they’re still higher quality than the commercial things they’re positioned against. Hopefully I can get a publisher to buy one of the games from me at fire sale prices (you hear that? Dead cheap!) so that I can dump the money back into my new corporation, but we’ll see.

Things I’m gonna try to bring to E3:

  • One of my crappy NDS well games, probably RoffleBlox
  • The Nintendo DS PDA application
  • The Nintendo DS VoIP client
  • My sudoku client and a few thousand abnormal puzzles (with in-place handwriting if time allows, natch)
  • Some BulletML machine demo, not sure what yet
  • The Nintendo DS eBook Reader, with some already-attached books
  • Two things I’m not talking about in public
  • Maybe a drawing program, depending on how much free time I don’t have.

Maybe other stuff too. Dunno.

In other news, I’m now getting four blog spam comments a day.  Whee.

Any more info on the Nintendo DS eBook Reader? I’ve been searching to web trying to find if such a thing existed.

I’ve been working on it quietly in my spare time; thought I was the only one interested. But, now that I know that someone else is into it, I’ll see about getting it done sooner.

would be nice enough, a homebrew able to read rtf nd doc (with images support) and able to mark one page. nd why not, conection to some kind of virtual storage as esnips, so u can get ur books directly from ur DS.
Do u thing Its posible?, something like the DSorganize homebrew database but with books.

I would also love an eBook reader I’ve been reading them on my iPod nano which has a much smaller screen, it also needs to scan through all the notes for some unknown reason after being undocked which takes several min spending on the number of files so i only have 1 or 2 books on there at one time, the files also have a max size, so a 1mb txt book takes 260 separate files. Plus the screen is horribly small compared to the DS and has no position saving feature. Other than the currently selected file remaining selected when you leave and reenter the menu, that gets cleared when redocked, And the battery doesn’t last to long as you need the back light on all the time to read it.

Don’t mind if its plain text only just need to be able to bookmark the position.

Sounds interesting stonecypher, I’ve been looking for one as well; unfortunately I have zero coding knowledge so I can’t write it myself. Do you have a web site or something like that?

I would be very interested in an eBook reader for DS. You could hold it sideways and drag the stylus to turn pages (too bad there’s only one touch screen). Maybe you could have the option to turn that off for those who would be too engrossed in the book, so they could just use either the d-pad or L1/R1.

Yeah, I should point out that I gave hosting to a different guy who actually got the job done, instead of doing it myself. He’s at http://moonbooks.net/ (Originally he was at http://moonbooks.stonecypher.net/ , which I think is still running.)

Also (being the guy) I got some more neat stuff done too, like movies! So far there are over 400 books and 140 movies available!
